Bradley Earl Lohnes, 71, of Carlinville, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 in Saint Charles, MO.
Brad was born on November 17, 1953, in Pekin, IL. His parents were Margaret Zank (Robert Zank) and Ernest Lohnes. He attended Pekin Community High School and graduated in 1971. He continued his education at Illinois State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1975, and he graduated from the University of Illinois in 1979 with a Master of Education.
He met the love of his life, Kristine Madsen, at ISU, and they married on July 26, 1975, in Chicago, IL.
Brad was a teacher for 30 years, having taught English, Speech, Latin, and Roman history. He taught at schools in Danville, Dallas City, and Wilmette, all in Illinois. He was best known in Carlinville as the Guidance Counselor at Carlinville High School from 1983-2001. Brad retired from education in 2010. He was a history buff and enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading, the Cubs, playing euchre, and spending time with family
