Deborah "Debbie" Kay McDow, 70, of Carlinville, IL, passed away Saturday morning, March 1, 2025, at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville, IL.
Debbie was born September 23, 1954, in Ft. Carson, CO, a daughter of Phillip Gerald and Charlotte Ann (Stinnett) Harms. Debbie graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1972. She married Dwight "Butch" McDow on February 19, 1972, at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Debbie provided loving care and lasting childhood memories for dozens of children through the home daycare that she ran for more than 12 years. She also served as a cook for Camp Goodtimes and the Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled (MCDD), where students and campers affectionately referred to her as "Cookhead".
Debbie enjoyed working hard and spent countless hours volunteering her time and talents through numerous non-profit organizations and her churches. Debbie loved to meet the needs of others and be an example of God's love. Some of the hobbies that brough
