John D. Wilson Jr. Piasa - John Dickinson Wilson Jr., 84, of Piasa, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on December 7, 1939, in Piasa, the son of the late John D. Wilson Sr. and Ada (Werts) Wilson. John Married Joyce Davis on June 2, 1961, in Alton. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2012. He served our country in the United States Army. John worked as a Millwright at Laclede Steel for almost 40 years. He was a firm believer in serving his community. John as an active member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Piasa, served as a Mason, volunteered at Marthas Pantry in Shipman, was a regular blood donor with the American Red Cross, and was a strong supporter of Southwestern's Scholastic Bowl. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, always cheering them on at their sporting events, or just spending time together and enjoying a rootbeer float.
