Fay Ellen Bodtke, 74, of Carlinville, IL, passed away on Monday, June 17,2024 at Copper Creek Cottages in Litchfield, IL.
Fay was born on June 18, 1949, to John and Mildred (Roberts) Bader at Chicago, IL.
Fay married Robert Smith, then later married Ronald Bodtke on March 4, 1988, in Las Vegas, NV. She started her postal career in 1976 as a rural mail carrier. She then became Postmaster of the Chesterfield Post Office where she worked until retirement. After retirement in 2001, Fay kept busy with her friends, husband, kids and grandkids. Fay was an active member of the Carlinville Elks and enjoyed socializing and volunteering at the Lodge.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: John, Mark, and Norman Bader, infant sister, Mary Bader, and sons, Donny and Jimmy Bodtke.
Fay is survived by her husband Ronald, three daughters, Becky (Dan) Sanson of Carlinville, IL, Abby (Chuck) Kunz of Carlinville, IL, Debbie (Mike) Buenker of Effingham, IL; two sons, Ronnie (Melissa) Bodtke o
